Our content is currently graded from "4" to "6".
"6" is the most difficult. We don't have any content yet for total beginners. So, you must have some knowledge before starting. All our content is for those who are still learning so even our most difficult content may still be accessible to you.
This sample article is graded "5, 6", meaning that it is quite a difficult article.

From the feedback we have received, we know that language learners want to:
- discuss topics that are currently in the news
- be able to write messages, emails, notes and other correspondence
- read interviews with interesting people
- listen to audio clips and be able to figure out what is going on while listening
- read fiction in the form of short stories, etc
- discuss 'global issues'
- talk about leisure-time activities

You must give the Class Password and Class ID to your students so that they, themselves, can register on our site.)

Classroom licences are for teachers who want to use our content with their students.
To set up a classroom licence:
- Register as a Teacher.
- Click Renew Licence.
- Enter the number of students (15 or more).
- Proceed with payment via PayPal or Realex.
Your classroom licence is now active. You and your students now have access to all content on our site for 9 months.
NOTES:
- You, the Teacher, have your own login details. The students have their own login details.
- So that students can register, you the Teacher, must give them 2 pieces of information: (a) a Class Password (which you create when registering as Teacher) and (b) a Class ID (which will be created for you when you register).
- To create a classroom licence, you, the Teacher, must make one payment for your group. It is not possible for students to pay individually. If you or your educational institution cannot - or do not wish to - pay via PayPal or credit card (Realex Payments) on our site, we can create an account for you and arrange for you to make your payment via bank transfer. Contact us for more information.
- You and your students have access to all content with one exception: students do not have access to Answers.
- The 'Manage Students' link allows you, the Teacher, to manage your student list. (You can, for example, see who has - and who has not - registered in your group. Or you can delete a student who has moved to another class, etc.)
Yes. 'Teachers' and 'Individuals' have access to all content. (Student registrations, however, do not allow access to Answers.)
We created this site in order to complement our site at learnfrenchbypodcast.com where the emphasis is on listening and speaking.
Lots of our users on LFBP have made substantial progress and want to take their language learning further.
OLR provides different content with lots of opportunities to work on reading and writing. Our content here will give you the chance to put what you already know to the test while working on comprehension questions, writing tasks, and more.
No. The language-learning content on both sites is created by the same team of people but the sites have been developed separately. There is currently no way of using LFBP credits to access content on OLR.
If you register as an Individual on OLR, you must purchase Download Credits to access content. Find out about Individual pricing here.

No. After 12 years of publishing Français Plus, we made the difficult decision to discontinue this title.
With the inclusion of audio - and some video, too - our websites will henceforth allow us far more flexibility than our print resources have done in the past.
All our language-learning content will be available via this website and learnfrenchbypodcast.com from now on.
If you previously subscribed to Français Plus for your students and would now like your students to use content from our website in class, you can set up a classroom licence (see point no. 9, above).
We're working right now on
- German content
- English content (for those whose first language is French)
This content will become available in the coming weeks.

To purchase Download Credits (or a Classroom Licence if you are a teacher), there are two payment options:
- Realex
- PayPal
We recommend Realex but some users prefer PayPal. In any case, you can choose the option that suits you best.
(Note that your financial details are not sent to us when you make a payment on our site. Your payment is handled entirely on the secure servers of Realex or PayPal, whichever you choose.)
Purchasing with a PayPal e-Check: e-Checks are the electronic equivalent of 'paper' checks and take anywhere from 3 to 9 days to clear, depending on your location. If you make a purchase on our site via e-Check, your OLR Download Credits will not be available to you until your e-Check clears at our end. (Similarly, if you purchase a Classroom Licence, your licence will not come into effect until the eCheck clears.)
(What are e-Checks? 'Verified' PayPal members can link their PayPal accounts to regular checking accounts and make online purchases via e-Check. (Payments made via e-Check are debited directly from PayPal users' checking accounts rather than from a credit card.))
No. Your Download Credits remain in your OLR account until you use them to download content from our site. There is no time limit on the Credits.
(Classroom Licences - for Teachers - last for 9 months and then expire.)
